PINNACLE LUMPINI HOTEL - BANGKOK

room with a view
Yet again, we are back at the Pinnacle Lumpini Hotel in Bangkok's Sathorn area. What a relief to see that the Hotel is still good and has not gone down like so many of our other Hotels which we used in the past. We must have had dozens of hotels in Bangkok, mostly up in the Sukhumvit area, but since we stayed in the Pinnacle Lumpini we have been pretty happy. It's still an inexpensive Hotel, with nice size rooms, clean and a good value for the price. If you book it, breakfast is included and it has never disappointed me. Yes, the hotel has aged but surprisingly it is still in pretty good shape and the location is just perfect for my personal needs.

Pool deck has been improved and all of the broken wooden floor elements are now replaced. The little cafe/restaurant up on the 15th floor is also a nice addition AND the hotel still offers great views over the city of Bangkok. It's not like the other roof top bars and restaurants but for that price you can't expect that.

We had two different rooms on different floors this trip. First room was on the 6th floor.

Second room a week later was on the 9th floor. Almost no difference, even though the hotel will tell you that the amenities are already included in the higher floor room. The only visible difference for me was that the room on the 9th floor had a box of tissues included. No bathtub but a shower instead. And more amenities in the bathroom. But that's it basically.

The lobby keeps changing bits and pieces here and there, but in general is still huge, with lots of seating areas. Internet works fine here, while in the rooms, I continue to have trouble. Depends on the floor and the location of the room. Works fine at the pool though.  Service was also still the same, though at the second check-in I had to carry my two bags up from the parking lot myself because nobody paid attention. Usually that does not happen though.
